The factors decide the quality of white fused alumina
White fused alumina,also names white corundum,white fused aluminum oxide or white aluminum oxide,is made from the high quality alumina by melting above 2000 in the electric arc furnace and cooling. It is white with the main crystal phase α-Al2O3
Today ,mainly talk about the factors which have influence on quality of white fused alumina.
1.Firstly,the melting of white fused alumina decide its quality,whether it is melted completely,whether still have raw material calcined aluminum oxide in it.Melted more thoroughly,quality the better.
2.The chemical compostion, Al2O3,SiO2，Fe2O3，TiO2 all affect the physical properties of white fused alumina. For example,Increasing the amount of SiO2，Fe2O3，TiO2 will not only reduce the grinding performance of white corundum, but also greatly reduce its toughness. In addition, it will also have a certain impact on the hardness, strength, and refractory properties of white corundum.
3. PSD(Particle Size Distribution),especially the micropowder,The span the narrower,the quality the better.If have too big particles in it,it will scratch the workpieces when grinding and lapping;If have too many powder, it works with low efficiency or even no effect.
