There are many kinds of sandblasting processes. What kind of abrasives are needed depending on the model and material,which are thousands of types. Therefore, before choosing the abrasive you need, you must firstly determine the production process of the metal sandblasting used, whether it is manual sandblasting or mechanical sandblasting, water-jet sandblasting or dry sandblasting.
Abrasives,which are able to used for mental blasting,mainly include black/green silicon carbide,brown fused alumina,white fused alumina,quartz sand,black fused alumina,pink fused alumina,steel grit,glass beads and so on.
Then how to choose abrasive for mental sandblasting?
The principle of metal sandblasting is very simple. In fact, it is to use compressed air to impact the abrasive, or the air carries the abrasive out, so that the product can quickly and forcefully hit the workpiece that needs to be processed. 1,Silicon carbide abrasive—It is the most expensive sandblasting material at present, with low consumption and quick effect.
2,White fused alumina abrasive—It costs relatively high, but in terms of removing some oxide layers and retaining unreactive special workpieces,white fused alumina is actually the best choice.
3,Brown fused alumina abrasives–It is the most cost-effective one among all the abrasives, It is also the most widely used in metal sandblasting and has a high adaptability to materials.
4,Quartz sand–a kind cheap sandblasting rust removal material, low price and high hardness, large boiler maintenance, large pipeline construction can use this material
5,Black fused alumina–not too popular abrasives,Most of them are used in abrasive cutting discs, and very few are used for sandblasting.
